JLG 1043T Quad Track
The 1043T Quad Track telehandler concept from JLG Industries, Inc. has been introduced as a prospective solution for contractors working in extreme ground conditions where wheeled machines often underperform. Previewed at World of Concrete and CONEXPO-CON / AGG, the tracked design focuses on increasing traction, flotation and maneuverability on loose, unstable or muddy terrain, as well as steep inclines and declines.
The concept model combines the reach and lifting capability of a traditional telehandler with a quad-track undercarriage engineered to enhance terrainability. The tracked configuration is designed to provide better flotation than tires and could help reduce the need for additional tracked equipment on certain jobsites.“ Contractors are being asked to do more work in tougher conditions, and that’ s exactly what inspired the innovation behind the 1043T Quad Track telehandler,” said Daryl Stauffer, director of product management – telehandlers, JLG.
Spec’ d with a rated capacity of 10,000 pounds and a maximum lift height of 43 feet, five inches, the 1043T concept targets applications such as below-grade foundation restoration, heavy civil construction and deep sheeting and shoring work. These projects often involve wet sand, clay soils or muddy, uneven ground where improved mobility is critical. The quad-track design is intended to enhance performance in mud, sand and snow while helping minimize ground disturbance.
Developed in response to evolving jobsite demands, the 1043T Quad Track telehandler concept reflects the company’ s efforts to explore tracked mobility solutions that could help crews maintain productivity when terrain becomes the primary obstacle. www. jlg. com
