CASE Launches Industry ' s First Electric Backhoe Loader

CASE Construction Equipment has unveiled the 580EV, the industry ' s first electric backhoe loader, marking a significant step in zero-emissions construction technology. This new addition is part of CASE ' s expanded lineup of electric vehicles, which now includes the CX25EV mini excavator and the CL36EV compact wheel loader, joining the already available CX15EV mini excavator and SL22EV small articulated loader.
The CASE 580EV electric backhoe loader offers
similar dimensions and performance to its diesel counterpart, the 580SN, but with the added benefits of zero emissions and reduced noise. It features an 8-inch touchscreen display, advanced thermal management for its 71-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and up to eight hours of operational run time on a single charge.
The backhoe loader also boasts improved performance with instant torque response and precise control through its electric motors.

Heidelberg Materials Acquires Carver Sand & Gravel

Heidelberg Materials North America has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Carver Sand & Gravel, the largest aggregates producer in the Albany, New York area. The acquisition includes four quarries, three sand and gravel pits, a trucking business, two asphalt plants, 70 million metric tons of reserves and approximately 200 employees. Additionally, Heidelberg Materials and Carver Companies have formed a strategic partnership for land and marine logistics in the Albany area.
Carver Sand & Gravel, based in New York’ s Capital Region, annually sells around 1.8 million metric tons of materials, with a capacity of up to 3 million metric tons.
The acquisition enhances Heidelberg Materials ' existing footprint in Central New York and extends its reach into the growing Capital Region, known for its vibrant tech hub and diverse industries.
