The Liebherr Group has purchased 480,000 square meters of land in Tupelo, Mississippi, to build a new logistics distribution center. This facility will serve customers across North and South America, focusing on spare parts logistics. The project is set to create around 180 new jobs in the region.

The site will be part of Liebherr’ s expanding logistics network, handling warehousing, distribution, pre-assembly, kitting, repackaging and customs services. This expansion aims to enhance Liebherr ' s presence in the American market.

Liebherr-Logistics GmbH, the group ' s internal logistics provider, currently operates out of Oberopfingen, Germany, and Born, the Netherlands. The new Tupelo center will join these hubs, supporting various product segments including earthmoving machinery and maritime cranes.

Caterpillar has unveiled its inaugural Global Dealer Technician Challenge, highlighting the crucial role of skilled technicians in delivering top-notch customer service. This competition, open to independent Cat dealers worldwide, aims to underscore the high-tech and high-impact nature of technician careers.

“ This hands-on, skills-based competition will test the technicians’ agility, resilience and versatility,” said Caterpillar Global Service Vice President Henry Venneman.“ These trained experts are on the front line of support, working to keep machines and engines up and running to help ensure our customers’ critical projects are completed.”

With a projected need for over 44,000 technicians by the end of 2026, this challenge also seeks to draw attention to the growing career opportunities in the field.
