Liebherr Begins Construction on Advanced Logistics Center in Tupelo
Liebherr achieved a significant milestone last week with a ceremony celebrating a project that will bring a new logistics center to Tupelo ' s Hive Business Park in Mississippi.
This facility is poised to strengthen the company’ s distribution capabilities across the Americas and reinforce its commitment to operational excellence and superior customer service.
The $ 176 million first phase of the project will cre- ate 180 jobs, with plans to expand to over 300 positions in the long term.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves underscored the importance of this investment in driving Tupelo ' s growth and its transformative impact on the local economy.
" It ' s about creating job opportunities for our people. That ' s what a great company like Liebherr is going to do here in this community and that ' s something that really gets me excited about this project," he said.
Cat Command for Loading Now Available for Medium Wheel Loaders
Caterpillar has expanded its Cat Command for Loading technology to all medium wheel loaders, excluding the GC models.
This advanced technology provides semi-autonomous remote control of next-generation Cat 950 – 982-wheel loaders, allowing operators to work from a safe location away from potentially hazardous environments. Cat Command for Loading is designed to enhance safety while maintaining high productivity.
The latest update brings the remote operation feature to Cat 950, 962, 966, 966 XE, 972, 972 XE, 980, 980 XE, 982 and 982 XE models. With both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight configurations available, operators can choose the best setup for the job.
The technology is fully integrated with the loader’ s electronic and hydraulic systems, ensuring smooth, responsive control.
Salvation Army Bolsters Disaster Response With $ 885,000 Donation
The Salvation Army has received an $ 885,000 equipment donation from Bobcat Company to enhance relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The donation includes 23 critical items, such as forklifts, generators and light towers, which will be stored in Emergency Disaster Services( EDS) warehouses and deployed as needed across the Southeast.
